i have started work on the prelude proper for my game, it is a sort of dream/nightmare sequence that takes place in this very weird apartment/hotel mix.
it won't be too long and will be one of two parts of the demo, but i plan to go for a very 'hotel obsidian from umbrella academy' vibe. it will be the most 'horror/surreal' part of the game for obvious reasons.

i've been finalizing the functions of the game and during this i have been doing some concept art for some of the characters.
i think i have also finalized the gameplay loop/concept. it is best described as an "ameteur detective game" in my eyes, you progress by talking to the people in the given area. from this, notes get added in your phone or notebook that allow you to put the pieces together.
to be honest i don't think there is a reality for the game where i can avoid blockades a la Pokemon. i think the best bet is gain enough info and it will go away (i.e. rush hour traffic jam).

progress on the game systems is going somewhat smoothly, i'm not too excited to sink my teeth into making the cutscene system but i gotta do it.

i have started working on a game, it will be a third-person, more narrative focused game. lots of walking around and talking to people. i plan to make it kinda short, like two or three hours tops. i already have about half the systems in place, so i don't expect it will take too long. i will be posting more frequent updates on twitter.
